This week: New Pod Willem Toet | Fun from around the web Hello Reader, For episode 50 (yes!), I had the absolute pleasure of talking with Willem Toet on the podcast. Willem is the former Head of Aerodynamics for the Benetton, Ferrari, BAR, and Sauber F1 teams. In addition to a host of aerodynamic insights and practical suggestions, Willem also shares a bit about his background growing up in Australia. It's fair to say he didn't have the easiest start, but little did he know that when he broke (and then fixed!) the family clock at age 7, it set him on a journey where, in many respects, he's been battling with time as the enemy ever since. This is a great show with lots of insights, practical tips, and advice. Listen - and now watch - part 1 here: https://www.yourdatadriven.com/ep50-willem-toet-on-applying-f1-aero-to-your-car-1-of-2/ Let me know if you like the video format. Good luck staying ahead of the curve, Samir p.s. Thanks to everyone who sent in questions ahead of time. I managed to get in a few so will be looking at ways to do that more in future. Hope you find Willem's answers valuable. Fun from around the web

He knew his AiM data could probably help him – he’d just never done it, nor even seen it done well. He’d been sold on the dream of data but all he’d experienced was a frustrating nightmare. After...

Time you may not have for extra testing days or extended simulator sessions. You can just hope for the best. Try to figure things out as you go along. Or, you can try some preparation beforehand – like reading written guides, studying track maps and watching online videos. This weeks article is about levelling up...
This week: Working out the Key Corners | Podcast update Hello Reader, What is the most important corner on a racetrack? In other words, if you could go just a little bit faster anywhere, where would you get the biggest laptime return? You have hairpins, fast sweeping corners, slow chicanes, high-speed S-bends, corners over crests, corners through dips, fast corners into slow… and on (and on) it goes. Just think “pure laptime” for now. Where would you consider the most critical corner to be:...
