This week: Testing on old tyres – Worth it or waste of time? Hello Reader, You might hear people in the paddock declare that testing on old tyres is a complete waste of time. But is it? This might be fine for them but what if you don't have an unlimited budget for tyres, care somewhat for the environment and/or find yourself restricted by series regulation? You know that new tyres will give you more grip and that they will perform differently. But will the information gathered on old tyres be applicable to lower heat-cycle tyres you might be using on Saturday and Sunday? Specifically, will the balance you achieve in the car on Friday still be relevant for the rest of the weekend, and therefore, is it even worth trying to find a car balance on old tyres?
